Useful information
about the performance
After “Two Moons” two years ago, jazz pianist and composer Sebastian Gahler presents his new album, again for the first time at the Düsseldorf Festival: “Electric Stories” offers groove-based high-energy jazz with depth and underlines Gahler’s self-image as a musical storyteller. This time, Gahler traces inspirations such as Herbie Hancock’s legendary album “Headhunters” and switches from the classic jazz grand piano to a castle of vintage keyboards. This is answered by a top-class quintet of exceptional musicians: Andy Hunter on trombone, Martin Feske on electric guitar, Nico Brandenburg on electric bass, Leo Asal on drumset and Lennart Allkemper on tenor saxophone as a guest.
