Useful information
about the performance

Regulars at the festival will recall the hypnotic live music from last year’s ‘Faith’ show, which was curated by the Moroccan composer and master of the guembri lute, Mehdi Nassouli. He now returns to close the festival with the programme “Sonic Bridges” and the 13-piece Marmoucha Orchestra, which brings together the fascinating diversity of musical styles and traditions from Southwest Asia, North Africa and the Mediterranean region. Inspired by the ensemble’s boundless possibilities, Mehdi Nassouli effortlessly navigates these worlds with his irresistible voice, seamlessly blending Moroccan Gnawa music with jazz improvisation, fusion and pop to create a musical extravaganza.

Expert tip

Bremen Zwei

“With exuberant sounds, the group, together with their special guest Mehdi Nassouli on the guembri, transformed the venue into a dance palace… the music was like an unrelenting display of fireworks: intense, loud, and captivating.”
