Useful information
about the performance

Romantic legends and conspiracy myths surround Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s last work: the Requiem K. 626 remained unfinished as Mozart died while working on the commissioned composition. The unique requiem mass is one of the “eight-thousanders” of choral literature. Since conductor Martin Fratz took up his post as director of the Andreaschor in 2014, Mozart’s Requiem is now at the centre of the traditional opening concert for the second time. This time, Martin Fratz solves the question of how to meaningfully complete the fragment with his own “Wunsch-Edition” from the orchestrations and completions by Mozart students Joseph Eybler and Franz Xaver Süßmayr as well as the Munich Mozart researcher Franz Beyer.
