about the performance
Chiara Perneker, an organist and choir director born in Würzburg in 2002, studied church music at the Lübeck University of Music and has been continuing her studies in Hamburg since 2025. Her career has been marked by masterclasses, awards and scholarships, and her studies also include improvisation, composition and new media. Since 2024, she has been conducting the Lübeck University Choir and the Lübeck University Chamber Choir. On the Beckerath organ, she performs challenging works spanning a wide spectrum: Johann Sebastian Bach’s Fantasy and Fugue in G minor takes centre stage, flanked by French organ symphonies by Louis Vierne and Jehan Alain, the contemporary composer Toshio Hosokawa, and the French composer Jeanne Demessieux, who was a pupil of Marcel Dupré and titular organist at the Church of La Madeleine in Paris.
