Useful information
about the performance
Following the overwhelming success of “Paradise now!”, Wolfgang Abendroth has once again joined forces with the multi-talented Martin Baltscheit to tell a biblical story in a completely new way, in collaboration with the Academy for Choir and Musical Theatre at St John’s Church. “Christmas Tale” is a Christmas story that gives space to the questions of today’s young people: a young boy asks the Archangel Gabriel about the true story of 14-year-old Mary and the widower Joseph, who is to be the father of a child that is not his. “Christmas Tale” explores changing role models, trust in God and the universal power of love. Majestic angelic choirs and street rhythms bring the biblical narrative into the present day, revealing the true human miracle within it.
