Die Johanneskirche is Düsseldorf’s Protestant city church. It is a regular venue for the festival. It hosts large classical choral and orchestral concerts with the Johanneskantorei or the Düsseldorf Chamber Choir under the direction of Johanneskantor Wolfgang Abendroth, as well as new early music concert formats and the festival’s own large-scale productions. The church is very centrally located and has seating for almost 900 people.
