Great review of the performance of Play Dead in Montreal
18. July 2024
We are delighted and happy: the piece Play Dead by the young company People Watching from Montreal has received a glowing review at the Montréal Complètement Cirque festival.
The headline ceers:
‘If there’s only one show you have to see at “Montréal Complètement Cirque”, this is it. This small troupe of Montreal artists, born out of the 7 Fingers, gave us one of the most original and inspiring contemporary circus performances in recent years on Wednesday night. We thought for a moment that the Australians of Circa or even the virtuosos of Gandini would offer us the favourite of this year’s edition. But no. The six Montreal artists of People Watching – all graduates of the École nationale de cirque de Montréal – not only offered us the festival’s centrepiece performance, but also created one of the most striking contemporary circus shows of recent years.
