23 years ago, a bomb exploded at the Wehrhahn S-Bahn station, injuring ten people, some seriously, and killing an unborn child. The victims were ethnic German repatriates and contingent refugees, many of them of Jewish faith who had just arrived in the country. Two phases of investigation, a committee of enquiry and a court case could not solve the crime. The theatre collective Pièrre.Vers now brings together representatives of the police, the press and Antifa as well as those affected in a chamber play that asks urgent questions: Why could the crime never be solved? Were the police blind to the right? After their four-part cycle “Historification” and the examination of Nazi crimes in Düsseldorf, Pièrre.Vers is now following the traces of the state capital’s more recent history with “Dunkeldorf”.
