Useful information
about the performance
The tanzmainz company presents a dynamic combination of ballet and electro with the choreography “Soul Chain”, which won the theatre prize DER FAUST in 2018. Sharon Eyal has created a captivating choreography for the Mainz State Theater ballet company, bringing the ensemble together in an energetic swarm. The movements are animalistic and pure, with the group moving with the utmost discipline in rhythmic harmony. The audience is challenged to look for the differences. Because, says the choreographer, it is precisely in our similarities that we can see how different we all are. “Soul Chain” is a declaration of love for the absolute uniqueness of each individual.

"Soul Chain is a play about longing. You can see the pain, the sweat and how the inside tries to break free. This power grows stronger and stronger as the bodies slowly become more tired."

"Powerful dance, precisely pulsating bodies, stomping formations and constant acceleration."
