The Romano Schubert Quartet, whose expertise ranges from count-basie swing to funky grooves, will celebrate the furious start of the series. With “Points of return”, tenor saxophonist Romano Schubert presents a quartet album that offers all facets of mainstream jazz: Swing, jazz waltzes, Latin, ballads, funk and plenty of improvisations.
As the album title suggests, the themes revolve around life situations that mark turning points and at the same time become a source of inspiration and creativity. The melodies often sound like old acquaintances, cheerful and dance-like and sometimes flow rapidly into ecstatic modern jazz.
