The Pulsar Trio promises synaesthetic sensations with their new CD “We Smell in Stereo”. The original trio animated Deutschlandfunk Kultur to make metaphorical comparisons, saying that its music is reminiscent of “sensual states of suspension, the intoxication of free fall and gliding across vast expanses”. The trio ignores the boundaries between composition and free interpretation just as fluidly as those between the music of the Occident and the Orient, for the musical material ranges from ancient Indian compositional forms to pop, GDR punk, noise, jazz and Bach to minimal music.
