Born in Casablanca, the Moroccan artist, singer and songwriter Oum initially studied architecture before turning to music. Her captivating vocals masterfully mix traditional Arabic and Western Saharan music with soul, jazz and electronic sounds. Her expressive, unmistakable voice is carried by traditional oud sounds, Arabic percussion instruments, double bass and trumpet. Their new, fifth album “Dakchi” is a tribute to collective cohesion and celebrates Oum’s successful titles of the last decade, the tours around the globe and their special bond with the Moroccan audience.
