Jazz singer, vocal artist, performer and composer Mascha Corman promises music that doesn’t explain anything, but lets you feel it. The jazz and world music magazine Jazzthing once attested to her “pleasantly unpretentious bulkiness” and the author goes on to enthuse: “A word artist who can really sing and has something to say at the same time.” Between voice, guitar, synthesiser and percussion, Corman’s music tells of love – in all its forms: quiet, loud, questioning, free. Original compositions meet Brazilian traditionals. Modern sounds are combined with traditional roots, Corman sings in German, English and Portuguese, languages that are united by a heartbeat. Her songs tell of love, of losing, of searching. Sometimes raw, sometimes tender – but always honest.
