Useful information
about the performance
Joseph Haydn’s “Creation” is a musical examination of nature and, with man as the crown of creation, is entirely in the spirit of the Enlightenment. At the same time, the popular oratorio is a song of thanksgiving for the beauty and richness of nature. Today, our living space is threatened from all sides. The Düsseldorf artist Stephan Kaluza therefore brings Haydn’s joyful music into dialogue with a thoughtful projection. He shows images of nature that gradually reveal human intervention. Creation story 2.0, so to speak. The Johanneskantorei and the Düsseldorf Festival Orchestra perform with the strings of Les essence under the direction of Wolfgang Abendroth as well as Sophie Klussmann (soprano), Christian Sturm (tenor) and Thilo Dahlmann (bass).
