The Ensemble provocale is a permanent fixture in the programme, captivating audiences every year with sophisticated programmes that respond to the signs of the times. “Pacem” is the title of the programme, which focuses on the longing and plea for peace and could not be more topical. At the same time, the journey through the centuries emphasises the timelessness of this theme of humanity. The established ensemble under the direction of Sebastian Voges, accompanied by an intimate string quartet, will perform works by Igor Stravinsky, Wolf Biermann, two world premieres by Sebastian Voges, as well as iconic pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, including the “Dona nobis pacem” from the Mass in B minor.
