Sneak peek at the 2025 highlights
6. February 2025

They are well known to our regular audience. The Australian circus ensemble Circa is presenting its latest production “Wolf” for the first time in NRW to kick off the upcoming festival. “Wolf” explores our untamed selves with anarchic joy and energy in haunting choreographies to the music of Ori Lichtik. With glowing eyes, alone or in packs, wolves roam through dark forests and fill the night with ferocious beauty.
The press writes: “The Circa company proves that it is still one of the most innovative ensembles of the New Circus.” (arte Journal)
“…creates a rollercoaster ride of emotions from start to finish” (Berliner Zeitung)
We are also looking forward to exciting new discoveries and old friends of the festival in 2025. For example, the French jugglers from Collectif Petit Travers and the string quartet Quatuor Debussy will be performing their new production “Nos matins interieurs” (Our inner mornings) for the first time in Germany. An evening of beguiling beauty and breathtaking juggling. The choreographer duo Club Guy & Roni from the Netherlands will be performing their piece “Faith” for the first time in Germany. Stylistically between modern dance and elements of hip-hop dance, you will experience a stunningly virtuoso dance evening with electrifying live music consisting of beguiling solo singing, traditional Moroccan Gnawa music, modern percussion and electronic beats. The outstanding German dance ensemble tanzmainz will present its award-winning piece “Soul Chain” by choreographer Sharon Eyal. Eyal has created a piece about love, longing and loneliness in all of us. Inspired by strong expressions of the great feelings surrounding love, “Soul Chain” combines ballet and electronic music to create gripping contemporary dance. Matthias Brandt and Jens Thomas bring their new evening “Dämon” to the festival. It is based on “Le Horla”, perhaps Guy de Maupassant’s best-known fantastical novella. A man begins to suffer from strange apparitions. He sees things and hears noises that no one but he can hear.
We are also looking forward to great concerts, for example with the French accordion virtuoso Richard Galliano and trumpeter Paolo Fresu, or the world-class vocal ensemble Voces8.
Advance ticket sales for all highlights of the upcoming festival will begin in April 2025. If you would like to give us as a gift, you can now buy vouchers online.
