The internship in the production team (10 people) is all about smooth processes, forward-looking solution ideas and creative design options.
In the first few days, the production team supports the completion of the theater tent and lays the foundation for the festival period. From the start of the festival, small teams work in rotation to take on the organizational planning and implementation of individual events in the festival schedule. Every event is different, so there is plenty of scope to try out the different areas for yourself:

  • Artist support:

The teams look after the guest artists – from airport transfers and costumes to after-work drinks.

  • Venue planning:

The teams set up the large number of venues – from the first viewing appointment, through set-up (in front of, on and behind the stages), to closing the doors at the end of the event.

  • Audience management:

The teams are there for the audience – from directions and ticket control to questions about seating.

  • Event schedule:

The teams keep the various planning strands together by liaising with artists, technical staff, the venue and ticketing.
As a production team, we always look at the events together, support each other and solve any new challenges. We help you find accommodation in Düsseldorf

Your expectations:

Are you ready to commit to culture for a few weeks? Would you like your commitment to pay off for you personally and individually? Do you enjoy team spirit and making new contacts? Would you like to contribute your own ideas, help implement them and achieve results? Do you expect an internship to help you progress? We will do our best to offer you a lot of variety and give you many practical insights into the entire festival operation – and you should also be able to experience the varied programme on stage. We encourage you to take on responsibility in changing teams, to be responsible for very different venues and events and, above all, to try things out and try new things. We offer the space to grow together as a team and make many new contacts – both nationally and internationally. We look forward to your perspectives – your individual ideas and previous knowledge make every festival year unique. We share numerous job offers with you – if you like. Former interns have found their way into cultural work and are now working in a wide variety of cultural organisations and jobs. You will be accompanied by experienced and motivated colleagues who want to offer you as much experience and career prospects as possible during this time.

Our expectations:

  • Willingness to make a tangible commitment to an ambitious cultural project.
  • Desire for strong teamwork.
  • Enjoy technical or organisational challenges.
  • enough self-confidence to drive through Düsseldorf in our festival cars.

You should also be aware that

  • working in a festival can sometimes be very strenuous and demanding because many things have to be done at the same time and under time pressure.
  • working hours often have to be based on requirements.
  • the festival centre is like a universe of its own into which you can immerse yourself for a few weeks.
  • it may well be that you decide in favour of or against working in the cultural sector after the festival.

If that doesn’t put you off, but perhaps excites you even more – then an internship with us could be just the thing for you.
