St Anthony’s Church
Luegallee 61, 40545 Düsseldorf
useful information about the location
The Catholic parish church of St Anthony is a landmark of the Oberkassel district in Düsseldorf and is centrally located on Luegallee. The church’s patron saint is Anthony of Padua.
The church was built between 1909 and 1910 to a design by the Düsseldorf architect Josef Kleesattel. Due to a lack of funds, the interior was decorated more modestly than originally planned. In 1974, a comprehensive renovation and restoration began, during which bomb damage from the Second World War was also repaired. From 1984, the interior was renovated and redesigned, partly based on designs by Gerhard Wind. The work was completed in 1986.
