To mark our 35th anniversary, we thought we’d treat ourselves to a little excursion into the remarkable history of our festival, even though we prefer to look forwards rather than backwards. So we dug into the depths of the archives and discovered that we have hosted 110 artists and ensembles from 44 nations in D\u00fcsseldorf over the past 35 years. And if you look at it from today’s perspective, it’s a who’s who of the international independent dance and theatre scene, new circus, global music and the young London new jazz scene. Even we go into raptures about some of the acts and there are many a curiosity to be found in the very early years, which are also linked to some of the festival’s anecdotes. We also counted up all the different places we’ve performed in D\u00fcsseldorf. We found a total of 156 venues.
